Listen & Chat

How to listen to my show:

Following is a short how-to for getting playback done in your favorite music applcation - thats just because I had a few complains that folks couldnt figure out how to listen to my show and BER.

  1. BER on-site flash player
  2. Media player software

Using the BER flash player:

The easiest way is to use the flash player, supplied in the right sidebar (or area) of the Brutal Existence Radio website.
For this, you need to have the flash plugin installed in your browser, and also need to have the browser open during the whole time you're listening to my (or any other) show.

Using a media player:

Less easy, but more independent (ie. no flash and no browser open all the time required) is to use a media player software of your choice.

  1. Right-click and then copy the "direct listening link" supplied in the Listening section below
  2. Steps for different players:
    • Winamp: In the bottom left portion of the playlist window, single-click “ADD” > “ADD URL”
    • Windows Media Player: Click on "File" > "OpenURL”
    • Amarok / Clementine: Press [Ctrl] + [O] or click on "Playlist" > "Add radio stream ..."
  3. Now just paste the before-copied URL into the dialogue box

More helpful information to this topic, including some how-tos for other players as well, may be found in the Radio IQ's Great Big Streaming Media CookBook.

So, here we go. Yousa folks may enjoy my show via the direct listening link or by strolling over to the BER website:

Requests:

Please use the contact / request form (entitled with the label "requests" in the main navigation *hint* *hint*) to both directly send me a song request DURING the show, or alternatively for a future show.

OR: Come over to the chat room and tell me your request directly .. and maybe stay for a bit longer for a nice conversation ;)

Chat

The chat room is both available on the web using Mibbit, the official Rizon.Net Webchat - or by using a proper IRC client, like ChatZilla (Firefox Extension), irssi (command line; cross platform) or mIRC (Windoze).

In the latter case, simply point your IRC client to the following "coordinates":

Server: irc.rizon.net
Port: 6777
Channel: #brutalexistenceradio

Alternative servers if the main server is acting up are listed at the Rizon Wiki.
